The Life in Jesus

, ,

This is a translation from the previous Swedish post (July 15th).
From "From the Source of Life" (http://my.opera.com/Beraka/blog/2010/07/08/trust-in-god ) I have brought from Emil Gustafson (7/10):

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Jn 3:6

People who, like the Pharisees of Jesus' time, managed to achieve a moral perfection, might yet be so separated from the life in the Son of God that they hate God's children. Although they rejoice for a while of the light, when the son is revealed they will shout their: "Crucify! Away with him!"

When you passed faith, the "slow and progressive development", on which now spoken, left the striving human spirit beyond life’s perfect effects, and man is apparently dead through sin, because she did not have any correspondence with the Life. Such a human lacks any for the life natural needs of spiritual food and fellowship. They do not spend time with the Lord’s word for the sake of the life but for the righteousness' sake. They are frequent guests at the Lord's table but have no appetite for the "living bread".

Many members of the assembly are dead, while others are dying, and this is a reason for the bitter disappointments such servants of the Lord must make, whom fight with tears for their perfection. Where there is life, there are also conditions for development. But I can not even with the best food strengthen a dead human. Even the most tender love cannot restore the redness of health on the dead man's pale cheek.

Many are misled at their conversion. As a rule, we should never teach a sinner, as his entire life has been under Christian influence, to pray, and never seek to convince an awaked sinner that he is a child of God. While there are thousands of reasons for a man to smote upon his breast, saying, "God be merciful to me a sinner!" he is far from being able to receive the grace of God, if he does not spontaneously confess his sins. Let us never treat the souls as the judge at the court proceedings and extort them a confession, which does not equals their hearts, because this leads not to repentance.
