Waiting

-such a waste

SNOW HOPE

It’s Saturday. It’s about 8 am and it’s still dark outside. I have lit some candles and lit the fireplace.
I was up early. The last weeks I ’ve had to sleep on my back and that’s not very comfortable for a long time. So at five I gave up, went downstairs and sat in my chair, watching the darkness. It was good to get home after spending a week at hospital. They’ve been checking me as my blood tests were noe good. My arms are yellow, green and lillace., Lillace is a lovely colour, but not on my arms.I look like I’ve BEEN run over by a truck.

When I woke up the first morning, I saw we had got 20 cm new snow. I found my camera and opened the door to the terrasse. That was all I could manage. I walked into the snow and placed a candle, lit it and there it was. My little hope.

My daughter is coming home this afternoon. I dont think we will have a snowball fight. But I will make her a round one, And place it in her hand.

On a bed of rosesSo long

Unni, my prayers are with you. I'm so sorry for your pain, fatigue, etc., this trial.

You are beautiful. And I'm so thankful for the snow- a bright, lovely covering and reminder. Being made fresh and new and clean by the blood of the Lamb. The snow is like a covering of grace, cleanness over darkness and a hope and promise for newness over our worn and weariness.

Grace, love and peace to you as you spend time with your daughter.

I neglected to say this is a lovely photograph and a blessing for all in the lighting of this candle- thank you for sharing this, Unni.

Thanks Jill. Yes, I have this idea that putting a candle in the snow, lit it, and watch it, is a refreshment.smile coffee

Hello Unni,
I really missed you while you were being stuck full of needles in hospital last week. Not something I would like to have to go through at all.
In contrast to the snow you're having, we are still having heat-wave weather here in Cape Town. It's quite normal for this time of year here.
Have a good time with your daughter.

I wish you well.

is your daughter staying for awhile? or was it a day visit?

Don't sleep well these nights either... A big male fox comes every morning before dawn and barks at the window so that my dogs wake up and make a lot of noise. He is quite fun to watch, though, as he plays with chunks of snow that he finds in the yard. I Hope your arms will look better soon and that your nights get better and that you will have a nice time with your daugther!

Here was a lot of greetings. Thank you. I hope they all come true. I would love to watch a fox from my window.I can understand they make your dogs noise. Still I'd like to watch one.
I am not sure if I have ever seen one.

Jill; both my girls live in Oslo area, 400 kilometeres away, or 5-6 hours with train/bus. I ask them to come home now and then. This is much better than Lebanon!smile coffee
