Mä vähän puhun suomea

Step by step I am learning Finnish.
At the beginning I was lost. After two lessons I was sure that I could not learn even a sentence in Finnish. How could a normal person remember sentences as: Mistä maasta sä olet kotoisin? or Kuinka vanha sä olet?
but than I saw little chidlren speaking Finnish. And I told myself, when they can learn, I can do the same!
Yeah, and that was a very short period, maybe about few hours when I was even sure that I way getting to that crazy language and I remembered vocabulary...at that time I was able to say: Mun nimi on Edita. Mä asun Jyväskylässä. Mä puhun tsekia, englantia ja vähän suomea. I was proud of myself and of course, I believed that in the spring I would be able to have a fluent conversation
But then I had to face reality, which took all my hopes. During the 63 seconds´listening exercise, I understood Borsüt Pascal and Pariisi
And I could not understand why water is vesi, but everywhere is written vettä. I had to admit myself that my Finnish brain ability did not exist.
And now...yeah, I still confuse kakku for kinkku and kala with liha. And still don´t know how to pronounce hyvää yötä. But I can say that Mä harrastan pyöräillä ja uida ja vapaa-aikana mä käyn vaeltamassa
Finnish is pretty different from other languages and it is true that even international words are translated in Finnish - so phone is puhelin, email is sähkoposti, chocolate is sukla. But I found some similar words as banaani, kahvi, viini...
but what for sure, Finnish is the funniest language which I have ever learned. If you want to know, how to play the game "head, shoulders, knees, toes" in Finnish, have a look
I promise that you will have fun.
Pää, olkapää, peppu...

Minäkin puhun vähän suomea. Mutta, mitä teet Suomessa? Mistä sinä olet kotoisin?
