Everything's Coming up Talking Pansies.

Church for Scientists? Sounds like an Oxymoron to me.

A temple for the worship of science will open later this month in Berkeley, California.

Conceived by artist Jonathon Keats — designer of the petri dish God — the Atheon is supposed to “provide a spiritual home for rational people,” allowing atheists to nourish regions of the soul typically satisfied by religion.

“The leading minds believe that science can and should provide a spiritually satisfying replacement,” said Keats in a press release. “But until recently no one bothered to consider what form that alternative might take.”

Quoted from gatheist.com - link in Myy Links. What a strange idea. On one hand, I can see how having a center for atheists to gather and disscuss things would be awesome. On the other, are these people actually going to worship something? Will there be religious services, ranks, unifroms, readings or any of that stuff? If not, why call it a church? Why not 'Atheist Community Center'? Is this just to upset theists and right-wingers? If anyone comes across any articles pertaining to this, I'd be delighted if you sent me a link. Same goes for the Petri Dish God thing. I'd heard about it, but I'm still confused.

Just a small thought; hardly worth its e-ink.Richard Wright died. D:
