Mailing list A Few Tips For Designing Highly Effective Brochures

, ,

Have you noticed that a lot of businesses use printed advertisements such as brochures for their product and company promotional tool? Have you ever inquired why? Perhaps it is for the simple reason that they work.

There's no question that they are attention-grabbing, their flashy hues or big bold texts and their strategic locations made sure they would get your notice. But with all the other pamphlets out there, catching your attention isn't sufficient. The true test of a good pamphlet is that it will jump out in the sea of other colorful pamphlets, enough to have you take one out from the rest.

You see them in grocery aisles, malls, banks, airports, bus terminals, conventions, and almost in every place where people commonly flock. They come in different colors and, sometimes, forms and sizes. Whether you pick one up because you need to learn some much-needed information or just because you are bored, brochures are always there for you.

While getting a brochure to stand out isn't simple, it's also not rocket science. There are only few measures to remember in creating a stand out brochure.

First, know your target readers. This is a very important method. You may have designed the most original cover you could think of, complete with cute killer teddies and blood-sucking Robert Pattinson-look-a-like mini vampires, but are you sure your intended readers of grown up men ages 30 to 50 would bite into that? Without knowing your target readers, all efforts you poured into your brochure would be futile. You should reach out to your intended readers with materials that they need and understand. They may not exactly need it, but wanting and understanding it is enough.

Don't clog your pamphlet with book-like text. Nothing kills the interest of a forced reader by boring texts. A brief title in eye-catching font with an accompanying subtitle will do. The information on the next pages should also be easy to read, most preferably in a bullet format.

Those are just some of the basic steps you should consider when you want your pamphlet to stand out. You could also try adding glimmering texts or other special effects or even get attractive girls to personally give out the pamphlets if you believe those would help. But for starters, try the recommended measures first to ascertain your brochures would be given more than a passing glance by your intended readers.

Include your business' name and contact details. Of course, the whole aim of making a brochure is to get more clients or to create consciousness, so forgetting to include your business' information defeats your aim.

Your brochure design should not only correspond to your intended readers' preference, but to your message also. You may have lured working class adults with your perfect beach vacation-themed design and layout, but your brochure's message of auto loans isn't anywhere near your design. That would just create confusion, prompting your readers to think that the brochure doesn't really know about its own subject. There is also a design overkill. So use a single theme on all the brochure's pages.

Lastly, the brochures must be placed in an eye-catching place where your target readers generally stay. People won't bother to pick up a brochure that says about a big shopping mall sale event that is happening in another state. A brochure about an eatery's big buffet event is likewise unlikely to be noticed if placed in a stand near a health gym.
