Out looking at flowers this evening and found this bly enjoying the smell of daisies--it seems to attract them. Was lucky to get him and in focus before he flew away. Maybe it was a she.
Very nice! Looks like it could have used slightly higher saturation on the color. What do you have your canon set to? I read a recommendation that canon compacts give the best color when set to vivid.
Thanks, Tim. I'll try that setting for a trial. But in this case I think it was a matter of under exposure by about 2/3 stop. I had set it previously lower for some dark subject and forgot to change it. I did correct some in Xnview, but probably not enough.
The only reason I mentioned it is the fly... looks like one of those brilliant green bottle flies and it looks pretty muted here... but like you said, 2/3 stop underexposed will do that.
