New Paintings for ISEA show

, , ,

The ISEA annual juried show will be in late September this year. So, it's time to get ready some paintings. Here are a couple that I'm working on now, but can't decide which to work on further. If you have any preference please comment and let me know. I really don't like the title I've chosen, if it strikes you as something else, let me know. Thanks.

Here's another that I like, and like the title I've chosen -- Ignis Fatuus, which is Latin for Spontaneous combustion, used especially in relation to marsh fire, which we now know to be from methane in marsh gas.

Both are on Yupo in acrylic ink and 20x26" in size.

Merry Christmas - Seasons GreetingsTotal re work of painting.

Both are excellent party Very difficult to choose from. But I say maybe the second one aka 'Ignis Fatuus'. On both the technique is very interesting but on 'Ignis Fatuus' it looks like painting has developed around some prints, which I like.

First thing that came up into my mind was 'second opinion'. Don't ask why, maybe only because you asked second opinion lol

As Sami says, both excellent. I prefer 'Ignis Fatuus', largely because of the color palette and geometry. Both deserve acceptance in the ISEA show as far as I'm concerned!

That happens when I protect those spaces and spray paint over the other areas. smile

Sari said she likes the first one more. But I showed these painting to her on small Android phone display bigsmile But the point is that the composition and overall effect is better on the first one. It "draws" you in wink

Interesting comment, but your judgment may change, as I've quite a bit more work I want to do on the second one, whereas the first on is essentially finished. smile One of my fellow artist friends thought the first one should be called "Champaign." And, had some good reasons for that name, which does fit.smile

Thanks Thomas for your comment. I'll post another of the second when I'm getting closer to finished and see what you all think. smile

My judgment was for the second one wink That was my wife Sari who thought the first one is better. But I will show her these on better screen and we will see what she thinks. Can't wait to see how 'Ignis Fatuus' being evolved.
