Astronaut Neil Armstrong died, this Saturday, August 25 at age 82, announced the American television network NBC News. The first man to walk on the moon, July 20, 1969, had been heart surgery earlier this month. According to NBC News, Armstrong had put heart bypass surgery earlier this month because of a blockage in an artery. The astronaut who became famous phrase "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind", died yesterday, aged 82. Born August 5, 1930 and graduated in aeronautical engineering, Armstrong was the first to exit the "Apollo11", also manned by Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin and Michael Collins. In a statement about the death, the family stressed that Armstrong was "a reluctant American hero" who "proudly served his country as a Navy pilot and an astronaut." Born August 5, 1930 in Wapakoneta, in the state of Ohio, Armstrong majored in aerospace engineering at the universities of Purdue and Southern California. It astronaut U.S. space agency (NASA), university professor and airline pilot, having served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
