The Unsolved: Tori Vienneau and Baby Dean
Wednesday, November 15, 2006 3:49:04 PM
Until last night.
I just happened to be browsing through one of my favorite true crime blogs, Crimeblog.us when I came onto a story that in the author Steve Huffs words literally leapt off the page at me, for two reasons:
Number One: The horrific nature of the crime as taken from Steve Huffs article--
The bodies of Tori Vienneau, 22, and her 10-month-old son, Dean Springstube, were discovered in an apartment in the 1400 block of 45th Street on Wednesday night. One of two women who shared the apartment with Vienneau found her sprawled against a couch in the front room, police said. The baby was found hanging from a noose in his crib, according to police sources… (Sentence in bold was added by the author)
And Number Two: And again, thanks to Steve, for pointing this out. This particularly horrific crime, commited back in July of 2006, holds VERY little information as to the investigation and usual progress one would expect in such a case.
In fact, It's quite startling to do a google search on the victims name and only come up with a handful of related articles. As opposed to high profile cases, like Jon Benet Ramsey, or Natalie Holloway or The slain Virgina Beach Student Taylor Behl who have literally tens of thousands "Hits" associated with their names,
Only a few articles were found in the mainstream media, All from the same Newspaper- The San Diego Union-Tribune. Here's one of them

Now, I don't know about you, but that smiling, cherubic picture of baby Dean has haunted me for the last Twelve hours now.
Here's an interview Steve conducted with the Grandmother of Precious little Baby Dean. Its heart wrenching to say the least.
The only purpose of this blog is that if ANYONE should stumble across this blog and KNOWS anything, no matter how slight or inconsequential to contact the authorities.
Police are asking anyone who may have known Tori Vienneau – or the people in her life – to call San Diego police at (619) 293-2293 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-TIPS.
I only hope that Police are investigating this to the full extent and that the Killer will soon be apprehended. I know, I for one will be able to sleep better, knowing this sick bastard is locked away forever.
Peace, Love and KBOZ

And what a fucking awfull story!!!
As you know, I share that same fascination that you mentioned. What makes these (ahem) 'people' do the terrible things that they do??
Im pretty sure we aint ever going to find the answer in our lifetime!!

Maybe the good old people over working on the Zodiac case will pick this one up and run with it

This case is worse than anyone knows. I know more about it now than anyone outside of Tori's family, and it is an appalling and infuriating tragedy.
If you read Ms. Herroz's interview carefully, she addresses the suspect. Let me tell you this -- there is one. He is not either man whose names have been publicly associated with Tori since her murder -- not Dan Moen or Neal Springstube. They have been cleared. Tori and Dean were not killed by a serial killer either -- at least, he isn't one yet.
More will come out, in due time. Let me say this, too -- Dayna Herroz is a helluva woman, and I've been pleased to make her acquaintance. She won't stop until justice is done for Tori & Dean.

It doesn't take much reading "tween" the lines to know Dayna knows "exactly" who the perp is in this case.
The thing that makes this story SO disturbing to me, is that, other than your fine work and the sympathetic ears at dayna's employment, there is absolutely no other "stream" of information out there on this case.
Hope I've made him a little more "uncomfortable".
Thats what we do

There is still no media coverage on this case. Why? How can a crime so horrible not gain the attention of every major news source? I am asking everyone who reads this to take a moment and write to as many news sources as you can and ask them why they are not giving this the attention that it deserves. Tori & Dean deserve our help.
