Still Waiting On A Hurricane Named Boz

I always am looking for a seasonal drink to serve as a special at the Bar.

Being as we are in the peak of Hurricane Season, what better concoction than the "New Orleans Original" itself.

One of the fondest memories of my forty-someodd years was sitting on the patio at Commanders Palace in the garden district of New Orleans, quaffing back a couple of these babies before finishing off an extraordinary dinner and watching the storm clouds approaching.

So without further adoo, The Hurricane. Here we go.....

Grab a Shaker...

Fill with cracked ice...

Add: 1 oz white rum
1 oz Jamaican dark rum
1 oz Bacardi® 151 rum
3 oz orange juice
3 oz unsweetened pineapple juice
1/2 oz grenadine

Give 'er a good shake, until the shaker gets soooo cold, you think you can't hold on to it one second longer... then, pour it into a hurricane glass and garnish with an orange wheel.

A couple of these, and it really doesn't matter how hard the wind blows ! Now thats Lagniappe!!!

In the Meantime...

Radio KBOZ has been down this week. There's some big changes going on in the studio, and without telling tales outta school, Let just say...I think you will all be pleased.

In the meantime, I woke up to this little clip at about 2:30 this morning CST. Thanks, Keith. For saying what we all are thinking. It's refreshing to relish in a truly CONSERVATIVE mindset.

Oh and by the way, Thanks for keeping me up all night, Keith...thinking of truths spoken......and hope.

Kinda gives you chills, huh?

And the congregation was righteous.....

Two MOW's in two straight weeks!! It boggles the mind, frankly that the "Church" has had two "members" nominated in two weeks. Speaks to the power of the "Word", doesn't it?

Congrats go out to Brother MickeyJoe and Sister Wicked!!!!

Had to open my big mouth and what do you know..... Congrats go out to Jen!!!!! :hat: Keep it coming! :raider:

Another Milestone for Radio KBOZ

10,000 visitors and climbing! Thanks go out to all the Opera Members who visit. Its been a ball. Keep it coming!

Hippies, 1-The Man,0 (or the power of peaceful assembly)

Hi, Opera Fans! Ran across this film clip and just had to share.

First a little introduction...

"When the earth is ravaged and the animals are dying, a new tribe of people shall come unto the earth from many colors, classes, creeds, and who by their actions and deeds shall make the earth green again. They will be known as the warriors of the Rainbow" -- Old Native American Prophecy

The Rainbow Gathering is an annual event of peace loving, sustainable living, free love, free thinking types, held each year at various sites on National Parks Land, providing much angst to Federal Officials and Law Enforcement. So much in fact that the Feds dispatch a NIMT team, (National Incident Management Team) usually reserved for major wildfires and other natural disasters.

It's a fascinating display of the power of peaceful assembly. And remember, that hippie you hug today may very well be the one that saves your ass tomorrow!

An Internet Cultural Phenomenon --The Lynne and Tessa Show

Its not often that something comes along that literally shakes the foundation of The Internet and Pop Sub-Culture, so when it does, I feel obliged to point it out.

What happens when you put two bored, crazy, German 20-sumthins together with a video camera, a computer and a stereo? Well, you have Internet history in the making, my friends.

Self admittedly, what started out as a typically boring outing has snow-balled into the Mother of All Logistics Nightmares.

It started when they got wind of Googles "Idol" http://www.googleidol.com , a multi-heat competetion of home music producers and Webcam Lip Sync-ers. After sweeping their category in the finals with an astounding 11,965 votes to 4.032 they kicked it up a notch and really started putting out the good stuff.

Covering everything from No Doubt to Tom Jones to Ricky Martin, Lynne and Tessa have drawn attention from German TV, Radio, and Print and have branched out to the point they have their own website, http://www.lynne-tessa.de/new/en/index.php with a huge fan club and online proposals for marriage from every 16-28 year old on the net.

I could go on forever, but as usual the video speaks a hundred times louder than this blogger can convey....Living La Vida Loco, girls! Keep bringing a smile to this old mans face...this is only one clip, you simply have to check out all of their work on Google Video, keyword: Lynne and Tessa. Enjoy!

LAS VEGAS - Pamela Anderson confirmed Wednesday she's ready to tie the knot with Kid Rock in France. And California. And Michigan. And Tennessee.

"I'm going to get married a few times this month to the same guy," said the 39-year-old actress, who wore a white veil pulled-back from her face during a news conference about her new online poker site, PamelaPoker.com.

And If thats not enough to make your breakfast come up, keep scrolling.

Riddle me this Batman, Why, oh why, does half the male population think this skank has "GOT IT" and why do images of Dennis Rodman keep popping into my head?

KBOZ IS BACK UP AND SPITTING OUT SOME GOOD MUSIC !!!

Most of you have noticed that KBOZ has been down for the last week. I had it playing on the restuarant loud system last Wednesday or Thursday- the exact day escapes me, but it was kicking out it's usual mix of kick ass Classic Rock and Blues when it suddenly went off air.

Well, comes to find out when I got home that night and frantically retraced all the wires and did a system check it wasn't really "down". Instead the crappy 4 port router the Server runs off of had given up the ghost and decided to take an unauthorized smoke break. I'm hesitant to knock the manufacturer (cough, Linksys, cough), after all it has performed flawlessly and non-stop for over a year. Anyway, long story short, I ordered a bit beefier router and all is well. Rock On!

Here's the Link

On another note, I was approached last week to offer up some of my sage advice which I seldom rarely use in my own personal life. Which is why I RARELY charge for it. I struggled and struggled to think the situation through, so as to not inflict anymore pain and suffering on the parties in question. So I sat down with my magic advice machine and after about two hours of spinning knobs and "inputing data", here is what I came up with...

And then I was hit with an ephiphany...actually two if you will.

The first, sometimes there is just not a painless, easy way out of a tight spot. SOMEONE is gonna get hurt, period.

Second, the power of music sometimes speaks louder in 3 or 4 minutes than any hour long rant. So here goes... I'll let Joss and the Burdens say it all for me...
