Al-Quran Ceremony

Bandar Seri Begawan - Dull Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College yesterday held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at the college's auditorium.
Present as the guest of honour was the Assistant Director of Islamic Studies, Ustazah Hjh Fatimah Hj Abdul Ghani.
Ninety-four Upper Six students participated in the Khatam ceremony where they recited verses from Surah Ad-Duha until Surah An-Nas.
The Khatam participants comprised 25 boys and 69 girls.
After reading the Khatam verses, the ceremony continued with the reading of takhtim by female Lower Six students, while the Khatam prayer was read by one of the male participants, Mohd Rudiaziman Mat Salleh.
The event continued with the sprinkling of `bunga rampai' and the presentation of certificates by the guest of honour. A Dikir Marhaban was also performed by male students of the college.
The ceremony was a celebration for the participants who have succeeded in completing 30 juz in their al-Quran classes which were held twice a week. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
