The festival is one of the oldest in Spain that serves as a meeting point for musicians to perform the earliest classical to the very latest in contemporary music.
Furthermore, the orchestra has also developed a reputation for performing programmes with a flair for matching better known works from the symphonic repertory with other innovative works.
Other musical activities from the Cadaques Orchestra include a biennial competition to discover and promote young conductors, which were set up in 1992.
Bandar Seri Begawan - A Sell-Out crowd is expected when the world-renowned Cadaques Orchestra of Spain makes its first appearance at Brunei Darussalam's International Convention Centre on November 9.
Classical music lovers are expected to be entertained by one of the world's finest orchestra with songs from the traditional zarzuela, or Spanish opera, according to a press statement from NBT (Brunei) Sdn Bhd.
Conducted by award winning Pablo Gonzalez, the orchestra is part of the Toyota Classics series, which is organised biennially.
The ensemble will also feature Francisco Vas, a tenor, and a special guest appearance from rising Malaysian singer, Sean Ghazi.
Ghazi, who is also a dancer and actor, made his international debut in the "Anna and the King" film, and played leading roles in musicals such as "The King and I" and "Miss Saigon".
Ghazi is expected to wow the audience with his rendition of P Ramlee's "Getaran Jiwa", and other Malay and English songs, including "Semalam" and "I have Dreamed".
The Cadaques Orchestra, founded in 1988, comprises professional musicians from all over Europe.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go to Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam and Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Cacat, two non-profit organisations that offer programmes aimed at helping people with special needs.-- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
