Bandar Seri Begawan - This week at the recent Simpur Bruneian Blog Awards, blog Kurapak was titled `best local content' against other popular blogs among the local blogging scene.
Kurapak seized victory from other popular blogs such as KB Happening, Ranoadidas, Turquoise & Roses, and Bahapa Kitani with a 40 per cent vote from the public.
Blog owner Ak Syahreen Pg Metassan has placed himself second spot in the final round of the The Simpur Bloggies, a chance to reap the Bruneian Blog of the Year award.
The awards, launched in this year by Simpur was established to recognise the sultanate's informative, creative and entertaining bloggers, backed up a list of sponsors which include, by DSTCom, Concepts Commercial Suppliers, Orchid Garden Hotel, Hi Max Trading & Services and DST Group.
Between the period of September to Febuary next year, Bruneians can nominate, vote for their favourite blogs which are divided into five blog categories such as Personal, Local Content, Photo, Lifestyle, and Specialty.
In March, members of the public will vote winners of the selected categories to determine the Bruneian Blog of Year award, with so far, Best Personal Blog winner Spiritual Garden and Kurapak have so far made it into the finals.
With thousands of dollars worth of cash and prizes from sponsors, The Bruneian Blog of The Year winner will bring home prizes which include an Acer Laptop, a $2,400 DSTCom Advertisement subscription, iLuv Hi-Fi, $500 cash prize, a night's stay in a Junior Suite, including breakfast and foot massage at the Orchid Garden Hotel, and The Simpur Bloggies Trophy, on top of a few hundred dollars' worth of category winner prizes.
Currently the next category in the spot light is the "Best Photo Blog”, Bruneian blog readers can now start sending their nominations for this category.-- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
