"The artwork of Maria Brunereau is the result of strong motivation and creativity, which emerge from non-stop inspiration, firmly rooted in her past. Her images are direct reflects for her passion to beauty, the mystery for life and the avalanche of emotions that link myth with reality. Having the ability to pick all kinds of experience with sensibility, she transmits immense vitality of expression in her paintings. Her artwork is full of metaphorical figures marked by explosions of light that sometimes represent pre-columbine and other traditions, presenting actual problems or motives from our culture. With extraordinary beauty, the painting Tonatiuh (God of the Sun in the Aztec Mythology) shines for its strong composition and intelligent graphic and lighting structure. Other of her important artwork such as Terra (Earth), Vulcano (Volcano) and Sensualidad (Sensuality), mark visually efficient rhythm and color contrast, emotion and symbolism. Maria Brunereau converts her vision in fantastic atmospheres, wisely summarizing the sensorial data, the fantasy and real, giving to her compositions a dynamic rhythm, thanks to her ability to create and select the exact color tones and lights that adapt to a certain situation. Her artwork transports us directly to the interior energy feeding her work with psychological, spiritual, and creative exploration based on an internal force that emerges from her human, artistic and passionate values."
