The race goes on

The guys and the bike made it through the night, but not without challenge. The details are still a bit vague, but here is what I know.
I spoke to Brian more this morning about his ride. After he got his flat fixed he ran out of fuel. He may have missed a pit. However, there were plenty of spectators who were more than willing to give him fuel. He had to do this twice. He then rode it in where they did a front and rear tire change as the rims were demolished from the rocks on his section of the course. Even with all this, he arrived only ½ later than expected. Which means he was really carrying some speed.
He then handed the bike to Matt who rode it into the night, passing it on to Timmy around 9:00 P.M. Timmy Mo then ran the high speed section until he gave it to Korny at midnight. A nice ride by Timmy who smoked right along on his section at a darn good pace.
Korny took off and somewhere in his section got a gash on the front tire, which Chris and the chase crew changed. Then later the lighting bracket broke. He was able to come up with a compromised repair of zip ties. He pushed on passing many competitors and handed the bike to Brent at approximately 6:00 A.M. this morning. As I compose this post, the bike and Brento should be about 2 to 2 ½ hours from the checkered flag. I’ll post again once I know more.
Keep your fingers crossed, but it looks like we are about to finish our first Baja 1000.
