Ground Hog Day Blues and some Sun

It is Ground Hog Day. I am on the road again, missing out on all the festivities with my loved ones. Sometimes travel really sucks. I can picture everyone staying up late last night at one of the many big Ground Hogs Eve parties. In the UK they don't even know what a Ground Hog is, much less celebrate his decision.
The good news for me, is that there is sunshine in Vancouver today, so the little furry guy has decreed that there will be 6 more weeks of winter, meaning 6 more weeks of days like last Sunday. There is so much snow on the mountain tops, that I think we will be able to sled right through until next winter. Whistler claims they have had 9.5m of snow fall already this year. (Thats over 30 feet for those who live in that one country in the world which still measures things based on the distance from some King's nose to the tip of his fingers).
Last Sunday Brent and I headed into the mountains. We borrowed his Mum's camera, as mine got broken on my last work trip, and managed to get some good pics.
It had rained over most of the mountain, setting the snow up as Hero Snow. We could go anywhere without getting stuck although I did manage to bury my sled a few times. We took full advantage of the conditions and headed for Miners hut and then the summit.

I practiced my power turns under Crash Hill's careful direction....
Brent was teaching me to make full use of my helmet to get the best possible turning radius. I now know why his helmets are so beat up. He has destroyed 2 helmets in the last year.
Airtime was had by all.

Notice how Brent is looking at the camera. That was his goal during this practice session. My goal was to stay on the sled.
The high speed connection doesn't work in my Hotel, so I am on dial up. I have lots more pics to post but am going to wait until I get a better connection.
It's off for my belly check against Mick this weekend, followed by a couple o Guiness while watching England v Scotland in the 6 Nations cup. I imagine Sunday will entail a pint at the Charlie, followed by a nice curry down in the village of East Kilbride. We'll see:beer:
Cheers
