It's Been Such A Long Time

It's such a long time, I think I should be going.....
Time doesn't wait for me, it keeps on rolling
.
.
.
Well I'm taking my time, just moving on
You'll forget about me after I've been gone
Brad Delp 1952-2007
We'll see........
On a much more positive note, Connor and his buddy Gunnar got a gold ribbon at the Surrey School District Science Fair held at Guildford Mall. They built a model Trebuchet, which is a medieval gravity catapult. We saw a real one fire while at Warwick Castle and it was totally amazing. I guess Connor has me beat, as I made it to the District Science fair, but never got a ribbon.
As promised in an earlier entry, I would discuss fast growing trees. The problem with fast growing trees is that they can pop up anywhere, and when you least expect them.
The other weekend, Glen, Brent and I were riding through Greystokes, and "WHAM" a tree popped up. The front crash bar had been on my sled for 36 hours. Poop. I am going to start buying crash bars in bulk.
I was not the only one who encountered the fast growing stuff, although I fared the worst.
Brent got caught off guard near the top of Mt Moore. This was one of the fast growing, fast icing variants.
And Glen got snagged by an even faster growing tree, the kind that grow 10 or 15m before your eyes.
Glen jumping through a wind drift.
The following sequence shows one of the many ways not to land a jump, as demonstrated by Brent. When ever I perform this landing, the sled lands pointing downhill resulting in a much less relaxed appearance on my part. Ever tried to sprint in several feet of powder?

On our way back home we found a someone who didn't like their inlaws, or decided to limit the number of guests that could attend the wedding. Hmmmm.
Cheers
Bryan
