Fat Guy Follies

I have been home for a few days and it is always good for the soul when the sun comes out in Vancouver. We often forget what a great place this is to live. Kim is training for the San Diego Marathon in early June. On Saturday she was supposed to run 16 miles, but we went to Big White. Saturday was one of those days that are responsible for the mountain's nickname, Big Whiteout, except that it was raining, not snowing.

Fortunately Sunday was a glorious day, making up for the lousy weather on Saturday.
Connor and Emily took ski lessons and did remarkably well


They really liked Adam their instructor, and Kim mentioned something about needing lessons too.
Eck went shopping for shades to cruise for chicks with.

Any how, since Kim was missing her Saturday running class, I said that I would go on a run on Monday morning with her. What the heck, it was only 16 miles. I told her to start out ahead of me, as I run at a slightly faster pace. I would run with the stroller and catch up.

We went to Stanely park and ran the seawall, and then through False Creek.

All was going well for the first 10 miles or so, Eric and I were staying a short distance behind Kim, letting her run at her own pace. Then she slowed down, and I got busted.


Like you really believed I could run 16 miles anyhow.
I had to swap the blades for shoes for the last 6 though, but my constant whining meant lots of photo stops, like this one in front of the Inukshuk, the Mascot for our 2010 Winter Olympics.
