We had a chance to speak to Korny this morning who provided an update on the pre-run progress of the team. The week has not been without incident, as you would expect from Baja.
Incident #1.
Korny (section #2 rider) went left, the cow went left. Korny went right, the cow went right. Korny went strait, the cow froze. Korny hit the cow. Korny is O.K., no word on the cow, although there are many reports that the steak in Loreto that night actually tasted like steak.
Incident #2
Chirs Sa (section #4 rider) was running through some high speed whoops and had a high speed wreck. He hit his head pretty good, and was not quite right last night. I am glad to report two good bits of news. First, that he indeed woke up this morning. Second, he seemed normal. So, he is still planning on riding his section.
Incident #3
The terrible stench generated by the three guys staying in the room in Ensenada was so bad that it woke me up in the middle of the night. Think sulfur mixed with the pungent stank of rotten eggs, combined with the wonderful aromatic overtures of cow poo, only worse. No amount of frabreeze, lysol, or air freshner could combat the smell, so we slept with the door wide open.
It rained on the north end of the course all night long, hard at times. Not sure what this will mean tomorrow for the race, but it will be another item to deal with.
We had the bike inspected and certified this morning. It was a zoo. Incredible how many people took off work today to attend the event. Here are a couple pics.

One of the race cars looks to be planning for some surfing along the way, check out the board on the roof.
The bike leaves the line around 6:45 A.M. tomorrow. Assuming we have no major problems, we expect it to come across the line at about noon on Wednesday.
I will post more tomorrow when we get back into town and start to receive word on where and how the bike is doing.
