Cabin Trip

The Flamer has been sitting at the cabin for a year now, and was probably in need of some work before it was ridable this season. Brent and I decided to make a quick trip into the cabin to pick it up and bring it out for a service. It was planned as a quick trip, but as with any outing with Bryan, be prepared for an adventure. This time the adventure was fairly mild. I was heading in on The Rev, taking it easy. My surgeon said, "No Snowmobiles or Dirtbikes until at lesat the end of Jan". After a few kms of easy I cracked the throttle and was rewarded with a quick Brraaaaap. Hmmmm, that didn't sound good I thought, but it was still running well, so perhaps I hit a patch of dirt that I didn't see or something. Yeah thats it. A few minutes later I nailed the throttle for an extended pull. It was going great and then, BRAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPP - SILENCE. Press the radio button - " Uh Brent, we are down, I think we have a problem back here." That is why we have radios, so Brent can come rescue me. I am in charge of the radios and always make sure that Brent's works, and has a full charge before heading out.
It turns out that the belt had shredded, and all of the Kevlar reinforcing, had wrapped behind the clutch, and seized the engine. An hour later, the sled was moving. Brent did it all, on account of my gimpy arm. Anyhow, it was a gorgeous day, and it was very hard to stay out of the alpine. A veritable winterwonderland at the cabin.
The Flamer fired once, and that was it. We had to tow it 15 kms to the truck, and forgot to block the front vents.

There is an engine under all that snow.
Cheers
