A One Hour Grind and More Flat Tires

Kim and I broke the one hour mark on the Grouse Grind this morning, coming in at 59:24. Not that this is a great feat as the record is somewhere about 26 minutes, but as a fat guy, it was still a milestone that I had wanted to achieve. We came close a couple of weeks ago, with a 1:05.
I was surprised as we had gone for a motorbike tire changing session on Monday and I was still feeling the ride when we started.
The weather was great all weekend, but Monday dawned cool and grey with a light drizzle, until we got on our bikes. Then it really started to rain. The clouds were down at road level in many places, making it very difficult to see. First Brent flatted, and then on the ride back out Sheldon got a flat. This was my first ride with Sheldon, and he definetly has a place on our team. That sucker can change a tire in no time flat. I hadn't even got a good whine out, and he was getting it back together. Not sure about the quality of his work, since the new tube didn't hold air either.....
Cheers
