Mike's Sky Ranch

I first encountered Mike's Sky Ranch in 2005 after spending the night in the desert, sleeping under a cactus. It seemed like heaven at the time, and has always held a draw for me. We got to spend a night at this fabled place. Normally around race time, it is sold out with over a hundred guests, but there were only us and three others on Monday night.
After leaving the beach in my previous post, we stopped and had a great lunch at the newest restaurant in Vallee de Trinidad.
On the road in, there was a trace of snow on the hills above Mike's, but the reported 3" had melted.
The pool had a couple of leaves floating on the surface, so I said I was not going in for a swim until they cleaned it. That was my excuse, nothing to do with the water being unheated.....
Racers like stickers. This is the bar in Mike's.
