Worlds Best Burger on False Creek and the First Casualty

Headed downtown to False Creek yesterday,
and stopped at Monk's. Monk's bills itself as an oyster bar, but it has a great deck and it was a sunny day, and we had worked up a thirst walking along the seawall,
so we stopped in. I was concerned about all the healthy posh food as we walked through, so I immediately enquired if they served big greasy hamburgers, and was assured I would be satisfied. I was
It was a prime rib and italian sausage patty, topped with cheddar, bacon, mushrooms, lettuce tomato and onion. Best of all they even put the correct condiments on the bun (on of my pet peeves is so called gourmet burgers with no condiments) Monks had a thousand island based one on the bottom, and plain mayo on the top.
Kim on the other hand had a salad, meaning I had to guard my burger carefully. She kept asking if anyone wanted a spinach leaf during lunch, but could not find any takers
Meanshile back at home, the first casualties have already been spotted.
Cheers

A funny peeve of mine is when you order a fancy burger/fries and the ketchup they serve is some nasty Brand-X runny stuff. The ketchup in the ramekin pictured above looks fine.

--I never have mayo on one. Don't like it.
--I prefer yellow mustard over spicy brown.
--I like the mustard under the meat and all other things on top, preferably with the cheese melting next to the meat.
--A good thin pickle slice or two really helps, they should be smashed into the melting cheese.
I once had a burger in Mexico that had a layer of guacamole and refried beans on it and some jalapenos. It was good but don't drink a beer too soon afterwards. It can be deadly.
I worked at McDonald's as a teenager. There the top of the bun is called the crown and the bottom is called the heel. I don't know if those are official names, but I thought they were cool.
In this area, there is a confection that is called a Carolina Burger. It has mustard, chili, slaw, and onions on it. I love 'em. It's the only style that I don't like with cheese.
