Golf Day

Our resort had the number 3 golf course in Mexico, Riveria Maya Golf Club, according to the signs on the highway. Hill was up for playing and I went along to make his game look better.
Golf was free, included in the price of our resort stay. The mandatory cart was not included. $130 between the 2 of us. At that price I inquired if we got to pick between a Lambo, or Ferrari, but was told we got a Green "Club Cart". We did get our moneys worth, as that cart put a lot of miles on traversing the fairways chasing my ball - the ones that ended up on the fairways that is. We also got to rent primo Callaway clubs. This was the first time I had golfed where my woods were not actually made of wood - my clubs below.
I bought a large bag of used balls, in the off chance there were water hazards on the course. Yep. Fourth hole was beside a river..........
And speaking of water traps, - I know now why they did not give you a ball retriever tool with the rental clubs. There isn't one long enough to reach the bottom.
The driver included with the Callaway rentals had a club face the size of my Hockey stick, which was a good thing. I was able to use the bounce the puck of the boards technique on several holes.
I managed one beautiful fairway drive on the 16 hole, a 542 yard ( from the short tees) monster. It carried great, with the wind in my back, straight as an arrow to the flag waving far off in the distance. Only problem, was the flag waving off in the distance wasn't actually the flag I was supposed to be shooting for. Hill waited until after my shot to ask me what I was shooting at..........
Good thing we weren't playing for money. It was a great day!
Cheers
