Most of the Cow

Since I can't figure out how to post pictures and a story on facebook, I am back on Opera. Not that I have really ever posted anything on FB, but I digress....
Tonight I went for Dinner with Pablo and Maca. Pablo got reservations at Mu, which seems to translate into English as Moo - Antofagasta Chile.
We might have had a Pisco before ordering the main meal, which in turn may have affected my ability to do basic math. Lets see, 800g times 2.2 kg/lb / 1000 g/kg = No problem for a New York Steak. The waiter said something to the effect that it was a New York Strip. Here I am thinking Keg New York.
Well it turns out that 800g x 2.2 /1000 = 1 cow minus the horns and hooves.
No seriously...... the picture does not do it justice. I almost fell off my chair laughing when Jonathan brought it out to our table. I had never seen a waiter require 2 hands to carry a steak. My suspicion is that the scale in the kitchen is the same one I am using for weight watchers - just a little bit out.
I was lucky. Pablo got the little steak. We were given the option of Hereford, Angus or Wagyu. I was voting for the Angus, but got sold on the Wagyu. A very nice cow it turns out. But any cow that gets fed beer and gets daily massages should be, I would think.
I will admit that some of our SRBD ( Sunday Roast Beef Dinners) for 6 people feature slightly smaller pieces of meat, but it had been several hours since I had last had a snack.
And to top it off, Pablo gave us access to his wine cellar
17 minutes - clean plate. Can't wait for desert.
Cheers
Bryan
