Sledding with Glen and Neal

March 25 weekend Glen and Neal finally made it to our cabin. They were running on Glen time, which is sort of like Bryan and Kim time in Newfoundland, 1/2hour behind us - therefore really late. Saturday was an awesome day. Sunny and warm with hero snow. We made the mountain top with no difficulty. Had good play in the Main Bowl. Kim showed off her hi-marking abilities. She was pretty cautious, but in all, not bad for being 4 1/2 months pregnant. The kid will be an adventurer for sure.

Glen, the show off (I guess when you can ride that well you are entitled to it) attempted a highmark through the trees heading for the ridge top from the West Bowl. He disappeared from view only to emerge on foot a few minutes later. He had buried the big Polaris in a tree well. Brent went to help, and found a tree well a little lower. I tried the climb but Brent waved me off (at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it).
Back at the cabin Saturday night we stayed within the 2 Cosmo limit, barely. Glen has some pics and he needs to upload them. The lack of snow prevented the traditional midnight run to the Lookout Rock. A good thing, as no equipment or people were damaged this time.
Sunday was overcast, limiting the visibility. We tried to run the South Ridge to the Lookout Tower but couldn't make it to the first peak, spending most of our time running up and down gullies in the trees. Never really lost, but never really sure where we were going - the story of my life.
The helmet cam was in operation during the weekend, but the tape has yet to be edited, so check back after I get home from England to see if I have posted any videos.
Cheers
