Baja 500 Update -April 4 2006
Tuesday, April 4, 2006 1:59:37 PM
We are now less than 2 months away from the 2006 Baja 500. Although several inquires have been made, as yet we have not managed to secure a major corporate sponsor for the Helicopter. In fact the only sponsor so far has been Skippy, the bartender at the Hook and Ladder, buying me a beer in a vain attempt to get me to shut up about it. Anyone looking to part with $10k US, please contact us immediately.
For those of you who don't know, Brent and I (Bryan) are teaming up with Dan Roush, and possibly his brother Scott to run this years Baja 500 race. Brent is the younger brother of the infamous Mark "Crash" Hill, the only person ever to singlehandedly bankrupt a Honda dealership by wrecking race equipment. Brent seems to follow in Mark's footsteps as on several of our training runs last fall Brent managed to position himself beneath the bike, with the wheels pointed at the sky.
I went to Mexico last year to prerun the race with Dan. I would have liked to post some of those pictures here, but our Cameras and GPS were stolen in Ensenada. They were recovered in minutes by the Ensenada Police, who decided that they liked the stuff better than we did. If you check their website, they may have posted some of the pictures by now. Here are a couple of pictures of Dan from last year courtesy of Trackside Photos

We will be competing against Robbie Gordon again this year.

Brent and I were training on the bikes well into snowmobile season.

We are working hard with our experienced team of trainers.

Kim gave us a lesson in how to avoid large rocks on the road, requiring Brent to get a bunch of new bits for his bike. She denies reports she was trying to join the "Crash Hills".

For those of you interested in attending the race this year, we should be heading to Ensenada the week before, leaving Van on May 26. Dan hasn't made the Hotel arrangements yet, but if you need the name of the Hotel, let me know. If you want to donate cash, medical supplies or beer, let us know.
With Dan's permission we will post his story of how he crashed and almost died in the 250 mile race a few years back here shortly.
Thanks for your support.
Bryan, Crash Hill Jr., Dan Roush, and Scott "I'm gonna beat Dan or crash trying" Roush
