Race Number and Huge's Pre-Launch Party

It is official, we are registered for the race. Our Race Number is 279x. There are 34 entries in our class. In the drawing we drew pretty far down the list. According to Dan this is O.K. as it gives a good idea of the pace we are running relative to everyone else in our class. My take on this it that fewer people in my class will pass me. You can view all entries at Score International Off Road Racing.
Also Steve Koole of Koole Laundry fame, has come on board as Chief Pursuit Vehicle Driver/ Pit Crew / Official Team Photographer / Interpreter. A slight setback also, despite our top secret naming scheme Tattoo El Grande has been tracked down by the authorities and may not be able make the race. We are planning on hitting Ensenada on May 25, and will be staying on unitl the Race. We are booked into the San Nichols Hotel. It is full, so don't try getting a room there. If you get a room and we find ourselves without one, we will spit in your burritos. Please check out the Baja Mar for accomadation if you can't find anything in Ensenada. http://www.bajamar.com/. Some of us will be spending part of the race weekend there.
Went for a ride on Saturday. Put in 100 km on logging roads, ending up at Clear Creek Hot Springs. The old fat guys got a confidence boost over the last 16 km of rough road. As we were stopped for a wee break 4 kids on their wazzy 2 stokes came screaming past us. We figured we'd let them go, but the chase was too much to resist. In short order we were on their tails, making them ride hard. Without too much trouble we both dusted them. The old fat guys felt fast. I am sure that will change come Baja.
On the way home we stopped to visit our buddy Huge, and discovered a party had broken out. It was a prelaunch party for the new Super Dock. Quite a feat, the construction of this dock. I am voting we change his nickname from "Huge" to "The Almighty Humongousness" after this feat. Looking forward to the Grand Opening party (Note to Huge, Hint Hint, Nudge Nudge do we need an invitation?). Hopefully I will be able to get launch and party pics.

Stopped in at US Customs yesterday to check on rules for bringing the bikes through the states en route to Mexico. In their usual friendly and welcoming manner, they grilled me for over 15 minutes on every detail of my life, work, family before saying,

Fortunately they stopped short of the cavity search. No wonder cross border traffic is down.yeah, you can bring them in.
