My OperaRace Day Update #2

6:00 Brent finally had cell reception to make a call into HQ. He sounded exhausted and I think was hoping to hear that Dan was feeling better and was able to ride the bike into the finish line. Unfortunately I had to tell him that Dan was not feeling better and said he will not be riding anymore. Brent rode from El Rayo to Valle De Trinidad in just short of 5 hours, crashing it 7 times. Very sore shoulder & many charlie horses. The last 45 miles were physically exhausting for him and could barely stand up on the bike. He passed the bike to Bryan @ 3:30.
7:00 Just received another call from Brent. Apparently the clutch is gone on the bike and they are now out of the race. This info coming from the "weather man". As far as we know Bryan is OK. Although at the same time a med helicopter was flying into the same area to pick up someone with a broken shoulder & broken femur. Brent assures me that this is not Bryan. Not exactly sure of the area, but somewhere along the ocean, maybe near Erindira.
