The Calm Before The Storm

It has been a tough few weeks at home. The Vancouver Canucks, whom Kim has an ownership stake in, have not been performing as expected. Yes, We (that would be the Victorian We) did defeat Nashville, but it took far too many games. The carpet in our hallway was replaced this weekend. Kim wore it out during the Chicago series. She could not watch the game, so paced the hallway listening to the game and rushing when We scored instead. We finally exorcised the demons that were Chicago. The chaos in our house started when I returned home from my last trip to the UK to find the newspaper centerfolds of each player affixed to the ceiling over our bed. Kim kept calling me Alex as well......
After dropping Chicago, we figured Nashville would have been a walk in the park. Kim and I managed to get tickets to game 1, as the series should have only gone 4 games.
We arrived at the game a little early so we could check out the new statue of Roger Neilsen, the man who is responsible for all the towels you wee being waved at any NHL game. The crowd outside made it look like we were back in Phoenix, Canucks regalia everywhere.
To my surprise there were free Smokies being distributed. After my Olympic Smokey fiasco, this was a welcome relief.
At the Garage, even the cheap seats aren't too bad.
And GM Place ( now known as Rogers Arena) have a house band, The Odds. How cool is that? They wander around the arena and play tunes during stoppages in play. And......Elvis Costello, (also known as Mr. Krall around here),joined The Odds for a kick ass version of Pump It Up before Game 5.
And in game 1........
Tomorrow bring the Sharks.....
Cheers
