A Scotland Music Festival

, ,

Last weekend I recieved an invitation to travel to the West Coast of Scotland for the Dunstaffnage Music Fesitval, featuring the Sensational Alex Harvey Band, among others. Dunstaggnage is near Oban, and that is just how I pronounced it. Oban Music Festival. Eddie and Ali were taking the new Fireblade up, Mic, Martin and Leslie and Wee Brian Mann were also going.

A lesser known variant of the Desert flying monkey is the Scots Flying Haggis Monkey, seen here without it's full plumage. Mick the SFHM, was giving instructions for an upcoming TT Trial on the Isle of Mann.

Much madness ensued.

The Bucket did what the Bucket does best, and was none the worse for the wear in the am. The only thing worse than sharing a tent with an insomniac, is sharing a tent with one who decides that everyone should share his inablility to sleep until the crack of noon. Here we see Mick packing up the tent at the ungodly hour of 10:00 am.

There was a shortage of tents, so Brian graciously offered to share his tent with sisters from Oban. In the morning he was heard explain to them, while they were all squeezed in his one man tent, "you might feel my helmet sticking in your back" - Brian, did you get your helmet washed in there too?

Eddie practiced for his upcoming trip to the continent by riding the whole way on the wrong side of the road - really fast, until the (F.G.F.F.T.S.) Fat Guy Follies Flat Tire Syndrome struck.

As Eddie claimed he was doing 110 mph, he probably didn't notice the markings on the road. They were painted upside down anyhow.

It seems earlier in the weekend I sat on Ed's Fireblade. Not only can I cause flats to happen when the bike is stationary, it seems just sitting on a bike can cause it.

It is a nice looking bike even with the flat. The bike has an electronic stability control, much like the Scott Steering dampener on Dan's race bike. This one is automatic, increasing stiffness based on road speed. I wonder if we can adapt that to the race bike???? Anyone out ther ever done it, or does anyone have a spare Fireblade (CBR1000R) for parts?
Sunday Services were held at the Bonnie Prince Charlie. As usual Eddie suggested we nip over for a bevvy before heading for a Sunday Dinner, and once again it was a curry delivered.

Another good weekend down.

Thanks to Big Al for the cool photoshop effects on the first pic of Eddie and Ali on the bike. Check out his space at Big Alba
Cheers
Bryan

PS. Kim had an ultrasound last week. Apparently Poco Burrito's head is in proportion to the rest of it's body, so everyone that has been giving her grief about the size of my heed can stop now.
