No reason for the title, other than it happens to be the song that's currently playing. [Bright Eyes. Don't really listen to 'im much, but I happen to have and love this one song. XD]
I've been doing research today. I bought that Tarot deck, and now it's just a matter of time until I receive it in the mail. My research has consisted of me Wiki-ing every Major Arcana card and reading up on them; I feel a pseudo-story coming on. [Hopefully. *crossy fingers*]
Frankly, some of the cards allude me almost entirely. Some seem redundant, as well.
And then some are just farking amazing.

My favorite cards are The Fool, The Hanged Man, and the Death. I'm also a fan of The Priestess and the Empress, but possibly because they remind me of Lilith and Eve, respectively. And yes, I can even tie my Judeo-Christian mythology obsession to Tarot. Actually, it's a lot easier than one might assume.
See, being raised Catholic, one is told from a young age that anything even mildly occult is SATAN. Basically. This includes Tarot, of course. And Ouija, but I don't think I'd be caught dead with a Ouija board. Or maybe just dead. [It's really not an irrational fear; there are some things I just
won't mess with.]
But...Tarot is based heavily on all mythology, Judeo-Christian included. The Hanged Man has allusions to Christ...The Devil card is purely a work of Christian influence, if anything is. I'm going to paraphrase, and I forget who said it, but..."Satanism is just some sort of disease of Christianity; you have to be really Christian to believe in Satan." True. Truetruetrue.
But again, fortune-telling aspect aside, the history and concept of Tarot is quite fascinating. I think what I like most about the whole Tarot thing is that...it makes you look at yourself more, consider what you could improve, and whatnot.
Anyway, moving rapidly along to another topic entirely...
I realize this Opera account doesn't really leave room for
all of my favorite things...movies, books, etc. My question is...should I post them in a blog entry? Should I put them in my About Me section? I feel like it's good if people know that sort of stuff. I feel like I really do grow the more I'm exposed to things, and my favorites say a heck of a lot about me.
Of course, my lists are usually waaaaaaaaaaay too long.

[By the bye, I love the jester emoticon. I'm sure you can tell.]
But let's see...what are important things to know...? Books, movies, television shows, authors, musicians, actors/actresses...foods has a section...I suppose that's it. My books alone could take up pages. Seriously. I read way too much.
Which brings me to my next topic: I have not yet read today.

A sure shocker, that. I've gotten just over four-hundred pages into this beast of a book. It's absolutely excellent, it's just
hefty. One thousand six pages is a challenge; certainly the largest book I've ever read. Up until now, I think the total was somewhere 'round about 800, and that was a
Harry Potter book, which means it was an easy read. I shant criticize the books here, though I am know to do it every now and then...but confess, they are fluff. Honestly.
This story has a lot of meat...a lot of characters with intricate...characterizations?

Good, solid plot...I should have known, though; it was Neil Gaiman-approved. [Neil's on that list of favorite authors...] Hee...
Well, this is certainly a more lengthy entry than usual. If I happen to start making those lists, I'll also start posting them, probably in separate entries which will then be periodically updated, because everything I do seems to lead me to somewhere else.
Anyway. I'll stop making your eyes bleed now.
