Krisnadwipayana University - Jakarta Indonesia. Opera Mini Presentation

, , , , , ,

Originally, we planned this event run on 10 January 2009 but wanted to allow time for posters and merchandise to arrive from Opera, so we moved the schedule to 17 January. Unfortunately the packages we waited was not coming yet (OCC T-Shirt and merchandise for audience) only Opera posters. :faint: Well nothing to be said but the show must go on. :knight:
The Opera Mini presentation itself was scheduled after the student and faculty dialogue regular meeting. I run this event with my OCC partner, Ragil Rahayu (the future leader). On our former event poster it was printed that there would be a free souvenir for participants but because by day minus 1 we still hadn’t receive the package, I had to change the poster. I put it on the entry door. There were 30 participants listed, mostly were students from the informatics engineering department (including our department head). Views from our Jatiwaringin Campus January 2009, entering rainy season, luckily rain was only in the morning.

This presentation took place in department meeting room and was opened by informatics engineering department Head Bp. Harjono. He spoke about department notes to all students.

At around 2.45 pm, the Opera Mini Presentation began with Ragil introducing the Opera Campus Crew, the tasks and the benefits and OCC-KU among others member around the world (Countries and Campuses)

After Ragil told about OCC and encouraged audience to also join the program, the presentation continued with the main topics that covered:
Internet (Search Engine, Google, Tips and Trick and Case Study)
Opera Software company and Opera product (included Opera Desktop 9.63)
-(Opera and Opera Products Slideset)
-Showed video about Opera browser 12 years history
-(Slideset about Open the Web)
Opera Mini 4.2 (presentation on Interface, features and what’s new in Opera Mini 4.2)
We also showed the audience some Opera Mini videos:
-Full Mobile web with Opera Mini
-Things you can do with Opera Mini

The presentation let the audience see the benefit of using a search engine (Google) in daily activities and how Opera Mini equipped with Google will make your day even better.:knight:

The participants listened carefully to the main topic and most of them showed interested in applying for the Opera Campus Crew.

Opera Posters placed on our faculty and department notice board.
Well, we hope many student would join us to be part of Opera campus Crew after seeing this presentation.

See you !

The pictures with the trees remind me of New York

did the audience have a favorite part?

ZaraL 20. January 2009, 07:59

Well done, Risanto and Ragil! Indeed I have already received a few applications for Crew members to join there :D

Has the merchandise arrived yet? Sorry again about that. The posters package and the merchandise were sent from here at the same time, so I don't know how their arrival could be so far apart.

Yes Chas4, more trees but perhaps because of global warming temperatures are hotter than couples years ago.

Well, I didn't prepare the feedback form, just thought it might be bias questioning your own student. Thank you Chas4, It's a good question and I will add your question to the feedback form.

Thanks, yes .. we encouraged student to join.

Today, I again dropped in at the post office asking about the package. But the officer could only promise to let me know if he find it and gave me his contact number. :frown:

Interesting that Indonesia student made a great move on Opera.
I knew some of universities (ITB, Unpad) have a web standards and web accessibility policy in their development concept.
What about your university, Risanto?
