Our 5 favourite new features:1. Tabbed browsing: This desktop favourite is now available for Opera Mini, allowing users to jump between several sites simultaneously.
2. Speed Dial: This is our take on a table of contents for your Web adventure. Opera’s Speed Dial will greet you with your pre-selected Internet favorites upon loading the browser, for faster access.
3. Password manager: Opera Mini is a virtual memory bank, securely saving all passwords for e-mail, social-networking sites, online banking and more, so you don’t need to re-type them all the time
4. Touchscreen or keypad browsing: Opera Mini caters to the needs of your phone, offering optimal browsing for both touchscreen and keypad-based phones.
5. Sleek design: Opera Mini 5 features a new, intuitive and advanced look and feel.
Opera also offers a special version of the Opera Mini 5 beta for BlackBerry. Designed specifically for BlackBerry devices, Opera Mini 5 works seamlessly with it, including opening links and copy-and-paste functions.
Help Spread the Word!
• Events: Hold a Demo Day or presentation about Opera Mini to show it people first hand. You might want to pursue this if you’re looking for a new challenge after the Opera 10 World Series, or if Opera Mini (or mobile browsing in general) is more popular in your country than desktop.
• Opera Mini comics: Help new users understand how they can use Opera Mini by showing situations where Mini comes in handy, through our Opera Mini comic strips. You could leave one on each chair in a cafeteria or computer lab, or walk around handing them out so you can add a personal touch and answer any extra questions. Check out these posts about members in Indonesia and the Philippines handing out the Opera Mini comics.
• Opera Mini poster: We have updated the Opera Mini posters (in English, Indonesian and Russian) to include the new features introduced in Opera Mini 5 beta.
• Answer questions: We expect a lot of questions in online forums and from users, so we wanted to equip you with answers to the most common questions, so you can help us spread the right message. Check out our Opera Mini 5 beta FAQs!
• And of course check out our list of activities that can be done around any launch to spread the word!
