Spread the word about Opera and Web standards on your campus!

The Opera Campus Build!

,

We proudly present: the Campus build of the Opera browser!

Opera believes in providing users with a choice among alternative browsers. This promotes Web standards, ensures the Web remains open and accessible to all, and fosters innovation among browsers to ultimately provide users with a better web experience.

For more than two years, you guys have been installing the Opera browser in computer labs, Internet cafés, friends' and families' computers all over the world. But until today, we could only guess what kind of impact we have had on spreading Opera. With the introduction of the Campus build, we'll be able to get a much better idea of what we are actually achieving!

Whenever you install this build, it allows us to see that an installation was completed in your country and we'll be able to track the amount of usage! party

Important:

  • We will be able to track installations by country, not by university or city.
  • All we can see is aggregate data; we will not have access to any individual browsing data.
  • This build is always going to correspond to the latest version of the browser.
  • This is a Windows build.

So from now on, whenever you install Opera on a computer, anywhere, whether it be in your university lab, in a cyber café or at a friend's home, why don't you install the Campus build? We'll make sure to give you updates on how your country is doing in terms of installations and usage!. yes yes yes

The Campus build of 11.11 is 100% identical to the normal 11.11 build (except for the ID), so it is highly unlikely that there would be any problems. However, our desktop team ran a few tests and everything came up fine. smile
