OMP... Opera Mini Party by GMU OCC...
By Hanna Mutia Agista. Wednesday, 17. December 2008, 15:35:31
Right now, I'll try to write a report of the Opera Mini Party. It was held @ A107 Room, at the Mathematics and Natural Science Faculty of Gadjah Mada University.
Starting at 10 o'clock, it was opened with some words from Megan Garnieri as the Chief (Branch Leader) of GMU OCC. He was also the speaker of the first session, "Opera Introduction", that explained about Opera Software's history. Megan also played us some videos for this session.
Megan Garnieri (the speaker), our chief:

The second session was "Opera Mini Begins" with Luthfi Rachman from the Geeks Team as the speaker. He was so funny, so all the participants were excited with his presentation. He introduced Opera Mini 4.2 technologies. And one of the quotes from his speech was "Opera Mini is the BEST!!!"
It's Lutfi Rahman's turn:

Our third session was "Installation and Troubleshooting" by Wahyu Budi Prasetyo. Our MCs (Aulia and Dimas) made some jokes by saying that this session will be presented by our guest from "Sragentina" (there is a town near Jogja called Sragen, and we mixed it with Argentina) named Mr B. Lawson (Budi Lawson). Haha... sorry for "borrowing your name Bruce!
It's Budi "Lawson"'s turn:

Fourth session is "Opera Mini Emulator" by Agung Nugroho. He demonstrated how to emulate Opera Mini 4.2 on our laptops or desktops. He presented this session very well also! Very clear but attractive. After this session, the Q&A session was opened. There were several questions from our participants.
Agung Nugroho's turn :

The questions were:
1. How about the handset specifications for the Opera Mini versions? How we choose the right version for our handset easily? (by Asep)
2. I have some trouble with downloading some jar files with my Opera 4.1, are there any tips and tricks for better downloading? (by Sheila)
3. Is there any multi-tab facility in Opera Mini? (by Babab)
4. What are the activities of Opera Campus Crew? What are the benefits that I can get from it? And how do I apply for it? (by Dedi)
All of the four questions were answered smoothly by our Geeks team and also Megan:

After Q&A we held a door prize session by asking two questions to our participants.
1. What are 3 products of Opera Browsers?
Opera Desktop, Opera Mobile and Opera Mini (answered by Babab)
2. Tell us one of the Opera Mini slogans?
Super Fast and Free (answered by Edo). And after he answered the question, he asked all of the participants to yell it: "OPERA MINI ! SUPER FAST AND FREE !" Cool!
Babab and Edo won the Opera Bag as the Prize.
And our last session was about "Opera Desktop", by Aaron Brata Aditama. He presented the Opera Desktop 9.62 (actually Opera launched version 9.63 the day before, so he presented a little about it also). He talked about the future of the web browser, by introducing Opera 10 Alpha. He talked about all of Opera Desktop's features, including mouse gestures and Dragonfly as his favorite features.
Aaron's turn:

Aaron's speech was the last session, and the event ended after that. But we still had two more sessions: the photo session (the 'Click Us' photo) and installation for the participants that haven't got Opera Mini 4.2 on their handset yet.

We closed this event with an evaluation meeting, and the last but not least was the GMU OCC photo session!

That's all guys! this event was attended by 59 participants plus 28 OCC. So in total 87 audience members were gathered this morning for theOpera Mini Party!
See you @ our next events!!!
Cheers!!!

You guys have done a really awesome job, that you organised such a successful event in just two weeks. I felt so proud as I read the posts
I hope you all had a great time organising and delivering the Opera Mini Party (it certainly looks like you did!), and that you learnt a lot and increased your skills while doing so.
Well done again, to all of you! And thank you for spreading the word about Opera!
