"The True Nature Of The Force"

Ubuntu 6.10 is here bigsmile

, ,

Finally the next update arrived. Today a beautifull tip told me, a distribution upgrade was available. I accepted and everything went smoothly. It has never been so _easy_ to upgrade an OS, really!. Among the well known upgrades like: GCC 4.1.1, glibc 2.4, Linux 2.6.17, and the amazing new init system, i found Anjuta v2.0.2. This IDE is great, and I've been using it for some time now, and I'm glad to see this version at the repositories (previous was 1.0.1).

So, get it, and enjoy!! wink

Some useful search engines to add to opera;)Novell / Microsoft agreements and events.

Anonymous writes: No, you need to look at the second digit: 2.4.x = release version 2.5.x = developer version 2.6.x = release version

The final version is scheduled for the 26th October so anyone upgrading now will still experience bugs.

Anonymous writes: The 2.4,2.5,2.6 release/development/release approach was true up to (and including) 2.6 However, as the 2.4 took so long to reach 2.6, Linus decided to change the methodology: Small incremental features are simply added from one 2.6.x to the next. The way things are run now, it is not clear if there every will be a 2.7 (and subsequent 2.8). You branch the kernel (maintain 2.6 and concurrently develop 2.7) only if there are deep structural changes which will have such severe implications you need time to work them out and let them propagate thoughout the code. At the moment, as far as I know, there are no such changes on the drawing board.

I must apologize, I checked the bug report from one of the anonymous and It is correct. It was just a bug from update-manager... sad
Sorry, guys!
