Twice a year I have a good old moan about the Queens honours list and today with the publication of the New Years Honours List I am off again,I have no problem with the country honouring people but it should be for going the extra mile not just for doing your job.So Sir Patrick Stewart fir being a fine actor the Quo for services to 3 bar blues or the local lollipop lady for doing the job for 40 years really get my back up,for those people who have given their own time for charity work etc I have no problem.Secondly the honours list is seriously class based where the great get knighthoods etc but the lowly good just get an MBE or at best an OBE,when did the local plumber who gives of his time to carry out charity work get a knighthood or peerage, never they just get a lower honour wheras if a famous person does the same they get one of the higher honours.
So thats it for another 6 months and I feel better having got it off my chest although know it will be just the same with the Birthday Honours list inj 6 months time

Not over keen on what SHMBO and Daughter are watching on the box so on goes the laptop and out comes the MP3 player and Tales From Topographic Oceansnow I was brought up on Prog and I love it to bits but I am not naieve enough to deny that it was often ptretentious and that TFTO was as pretentious as they came. However look behind the rather strange lyrics and here we have a 70 minute work of instrumental genius by absolute masters of their trade at the peak of their powers so I am just upping the volume and enjoying Wakeman,Howe.Squire,Anderson and White just blow me away

Just watched the madness that abounds at the sales today on the news stating that people have been injured in the crash at the Boxing day sales, now I know we all like a bargain but do we really need this animalistic behaviour just to save a few quid on the items that we want.Is it a symptom of 21st century life in Britain that its survival of the fittest and that basic manners and decency just go out of the window at times like this

Just been on the news that because of the growth in obesity amongst the young parents are being told to stop their children sitting in front of the computor and TV and get out and play in the snow, excellent advice.
But hold on a sec we have been told for years that playing in slippery conditions can cause accidents and also that "Outside" is awash with Perverts and Paedophiles and lunatic drivers speeding through residential streets.
Will the powers that be make up their bloody minds
Oh and parents cant photograph their kids playing in the snow because as we all know photographers are either perverts or terrorists

The events of the last week,in fact most of this season, have made me wonder if Footballs's paymasters Sky TV might one day get fed up with what is happening in the Premier League and pull the financial plug. The events at Old Trafford on Tuesday night with Mcarthy capitulating before a ball was kicked was the nadir and for the first time in my life made me ashamed to be a Wolves fan, even the dark days of the old 4th division were not this embarrassing.Add that to appalling refereeing deecisions most of the season, players cheating left right and centre and managers winging like 3 year olds all add to the pitiful state of the EPL and Sky must be getting totally hacked off with the product they pay millions for
As the football authorities appear unwilling or unable to do anything about this state of affairs makes me wonder if the paymaster may step in,ok they may not pull the plug especially with ESPN breathing down there necks but I can forsee the day when Sky start telling the EPL to sort things otherwise the gravy train will come ith a large number of strings attached when the next round on contract negotiations come along
