The Captains Musings

Was Bosman Always Going To End Like This

Yes Tevez well I was always going to pass comment on his pathetic behaviour but was it inevitable from the first day of the Bosman ruling that the time would come when a player would decide when he wanted to play not when the club decided to pick him.

The events of the summer with Nasri and Tabregas holding Arsenal to ransom was bad enough but surely the behaviour of Tevez will make all but the most blinkered of fans finally realise that a combination of Bosman and TV money (Oh hell I'm agreeing with Fergie) is slowly but surely strangling the life out of the game.Oh you may say look at the attendances the big clubs selling out every week but Wenger (Hellfire agreeing with him as well) has already pointed out that attendances are starting to fall and that may have more to do with disenchantment at the performances rather than with those of Nasri and co outside of the season but it may be the start of the slippery slope.

So am I saddened by this well to be honest no,I have more many years watched non league football and ok the guy's aren't saints but there is a honesty and endeavour and not a small amount of skill that gives a good feeling at 4.45 on a Saturday irrespective of the result,oh yes they kick off at 3.00 on a Saturday as well.Maybe we will look back in hindsight and thank Carlos Tevez,Samir Nasri and co for bringing the obscenity of post Bosman football to a head and giving us back out beautiful game .
