Ever since the latest anti terrorism laws were brought in the police and more importantly Police Community Support Officers have been harassing photographers taking photographs of "sensitive" subjects ie House of Commons,Airports and most noticeably the Police themselves.Despite the fact that this has been proven to be wrong in statements dragged out of the government by worthy MP's such as Austin Mitchell and campaigning magazines such as Amateur Photographer the message has failed to get through to our custodians of law and order who look for the easy target rather than trying to catch real terrorists.
And now I read in this weeks AP the story of an Austrian tourist and his son photographing London Buses forced by PCSO's to delete all their files and give their names and passport numbers and were told taking photographs of anything "Transport Related" was strictly forbidden. The tourists were not even using DSLR's that appear to be as dangerous as a Kalashnikov in the eyes of the UK police nowadays just humble Canon Ixus compacts but they still had the full weight of these Fascists brought down upon then.
Now I don't use the word Fascist lightly because this is what appears to be happening regarding the Police action towards photographers in the UK today and not only is it frightening for those of us who live here but as with these poor unfortunates will drive tourists from our green and pleasant land

For the first time in years the last day of the football season will be pleasant and relaxing,Wolves are promoted as champions and it matters not a jot what our result is.I can sit back and watch all the other teams sweat about promotion, relegation and the stress of the play offs, now that may seem a bit selfish but after all the ups and downs of supporting Wolves over the past 47 years this season really does make a refreshing change.
This time next year might not be such fun but I am going to make the most of this moment

Its been 3 months since I last posted no idea why other than seeming to lack inspiration but hopefully I will find a few things to drone on about on a regular basis in the future.
Anyhow for today its a case of We Are The Champions because my beloved Wolverhampton Wanderers clinched the Championship yesterday

A PROG ROCK FAN
There I've said it and now you all know
So you may ask what has brought on this confession well last night on BBC4 we have 2.5 hours of Prog and Prog documentary and it was great to see my heroes at their peak and realise why i got into this wonderful area of music,I know like many things from the 70's Prog is looked back on with disdain but I still am of the opinion that the instrumental virtuosity of the likes of Yes,Tull,ELP and also the lesser known Man,Hatfield and the North and Caravan represents one of the great era's of music and i will listen to it until the day I die.
And lets not forget the whole idea of Prog was to move music forward and so today in the likes of Linkin Park(Metal and rap) and Nightwish (Metal and Operatic Vocals) we see rock music Progressing which is just what happened in the lates 60's and early 70's.
So to all those Prog fans out their still in the closet grasp the nettle,do a Clarkson and declare your allegiance to the world.

I know its the same thing each year but blowing off steam on here means the wife gets a bit more peace.
So the New Years Honors list has been published and this year it really is more appalling than ever, sportsmen politicians businessmen et all getting major awards for doing their job,not going the extra mile in the service of others just doing their job.And that includes Hoy and Ohorugu and all the other Olympians they did it for personal achievement and glory .Tery Pratchett gets a knighthood for "Services To Literature" despite having made millions out of his books, and I have every Discworld book,Robert Plant gets whatever for services to music, sorry but although Planty is another Black Country lad and used to drink in the same pub as me 35 years ago he has got a gong for am massing a personal fortune.
Now I have no problem with the great and the good getting awards but they must get them for selfless acts,Ian Botham's marathon walks to raise funds for Leukemia research,Jimmy Saville for his tireless work for Stoke Mandeville hospital.
But what totally hacks me off this year is the class distinction,as soon as we get to the people who have really done voluntary work who have gone the extra mile and given something to their community they get given the MBE,the lowest possible honour which to my mind is an insult,no knighthoods for the people who have really Served The Country just a throwaway award to keep the peasants quiet.
And all this has come to pass under a Labour government, really makes you want to puke

As a Christian I would say that of course and yes Christmas is all about Jesus but on a secular side its also all about friendship, over the last 24 hours I have seen or spoken to mates I have not been in touch with for over 12 months and it was Christmas that made us realise that we had drifted apart.Thankfully we are now back in touch and have something that no amount of money can by and that's true friendship.
So tomorrow remember that presents come and go but real friends can last a lifetime and should be cherished.
So to all who read this a very Merry Christmas and I hope that the companionship you experience over this time will last a lifetime.

In yesterdays Times magazine were the results of a poll listing the greatestPop singers of all time, the winner was Aretha Franklin and i have no problem at all with that.
However at no 100 was Joe Cocker now come on stop taking the mick a man who is universally acknowledged as having one of the voices of all time, the man who answers YES to the question Can the Blue Man Sing The Whites comes in at no 100,and who are some of the people above him
Mcartney
Johhny Cash
Whitney Houston
Elton Johm
All good or in some cases very good singers but sorry not in Cockers league
