The Ryder Cup

Ok so I know I am going to be blogging to a lot of upset golf fans in the states but just humour me for a bit.
I am of a generation for whom the Ryder Cup was just another 3 days of getting the pants thrashed off us. Messrs Nicklaus, Watson, Miller, Palmer, Weiskopf ET all used to pulverize the best that we could put out.
That’s why it now means so much in the same way as winning the Rugby World Cup after years of Welsh, Australian and New Zealand dominance over us.
So humour those of us of a certain age as we enjoy today and wallow in some glory that makes the past seem partly a bad dream.
PS if you find any youngsters crowing about a European win they have no excuses, they are just young whippersnappers who know no better.
