My Bi Annual Winge

Twice a year I have a good old moan about the Queens honours list and today with the publication of the New Years Honours List I am off again,I have no problem with the country honouring people but it should be for going the extra mile not just for doing your job.So Sir Patrick Stewart fir being a fine actor the Quo for services to 3 bar blues or the local lollipop lady for doing the job for 40 years really get my back up,for those people who have given their own time for charity work etc I have no problem.Secondly the honours list is seriously class based where the great get knighthoods etc but the lowly good just get an MBE or at best an OBE,when did the local plumber who gives of his time to carry out charity work get a knighthood or peerage, never they just get a lower honour wheras if a famous person does the same they get one of the higher honours.
So thats it for another 6 months and I feel better having got it off my chest although know it will be just the same with the Birthday Honours list inj 6 months time

The Quo: it's either three chord blues or twelve bar blues. Actually, scratch that: in the Quo's case, it is both.
At least David Lloyd George was fairly open about cash for honours.
