Seagull, friends, life, Captain
...
This is the story of how I became... Captain Seagull.
Flashback to 2002: My cousin and I sitting outside the highschool waiting for a friend to get out of band practice. We see a lone seagull standing atop a lamp post over an empty parking lot. It stands there for ages, shifting its gaze from place to place, as if it were watching over the world, ready to protect. We fantasize how the seagull is probably some super hero to the other animals, as it flys alone in it's misunderstood life. Captain Seagull they call him.
The next day, we wait again for band practice to end. This time we see a crows corpse in the parking lot, and a lone seagull standing atop a different lamp post. That crow must have been his nemesis.
The third day we see no seagull. We wait once more for band practice to end. For a straight 5 minutes we see the sky blanketed with sparrows flocking south. Millions flew by. Once the comotion had stopped we noticed a seagull swoop down from the air to stand atop a lamp post. Those birds must have been the Sparrow Crime Families, and the Captain had just foiled one of their plans.
Forward to 2003: Cousin Zarick and I create likeness' of ourselves in a Tony Hawk game. After growing bored of our look, we decide to give our characters super-hero outfits, I am A, he is Z. We needed enemies... So I created a villian that would never speak, and wore black and white stripes with a metal mask and a beak... I called the Mime Crow... Razor Beak.
Forward a few months: Friend Säm, Cousin Zarick, and I find ourselves in a thrift store playing with electric organs. We fantasize about a space television series we could create. The sets would all have to be made of secondhand purchases, and how the organs are control decks for the bridge of the spaceship. Who would captain such a vessel? Well a human wearing a white and black outfit, with the sharp mind of Spaceghost, and all the charm of Zap Brannigan. Captain Seagull is his name. His arch nemesis? The communistic space android... Razor Beak.
Forward to 2004: Friends Säm, Pat, Daniel, and I plan to sneak into the highschool at night and hide a treasure in "The Heavens". In the heavens there is a super secret hole in the wall where you can climb through to a super secret cave-room. Students arent even supposed to enter the heavens, and many do not even know it exhists. The highschools mascott is the pirate. Wouldn't it be neat to spread a tale about how a pirate captain hid his treasure in the highschool, and for that treasure to be real!? What name would our pirate captain don though... Seagull. The treasure of Captain Seagull. It was decided. Though, who was heading the team, who put forth the un-realized plans of attack on the school? well me of coarse! so I would be the captain of the team, and subsequently... Captain Seagull.
Forward to present: Having donned the name CaptainSeagull in multiplayer gaming on numerous occasions, I decided I better stick with that name forever as scores could forever be tied to me. As well as the occasional "you must be CaptainSeagull" in the real-world of game-player meetings. CaptainSeagull is now making a larger name for himself over in the N+ group, and here on My Opera. That is the story of Captain Seagull. He has materialized in the form of a bird, a space hero, and a pirate of myth. And now me, I am the new, Captain Seagull.
Now, whenever I see a lone seagull, I salute, and silently whisper
"Captain"

Espen! Son of uh! - Oh well,
Espen, the friggen Opera class-clown over here has tagged me. It appears I am now "it". Oh for shame, the little kids at the playground are sure to never let me live it down now.
Oh well, I have no choice... I must reveal five unknown/little-known facts about myself.
- I signed up for a ballet class at school this comming semester. I am sure it is going to be more fun than any male will ever give me credit for. I am also sure there will be more cute ballerinas present than I will give any other male credit for
.
- I am so vigilante against drugs and preformance enhancers that I wont even drink coffee until I am fully awake. I love the taste of coffees, but I wont let them help me awake. crutch = weak.
- I have a fear of ladders. Strange considering I have zero fear of heights or climbing on shelves or questionable branches or other miscelanious 'not to be climbed on' material. Standing on a ladder instills a fear that I can stand, but only barely and sometimes not at all.
- I enjoy chick-flicks. seriously, I get emotional in a sad movie, and seeing as how I am a tough film critic, I really dislike many action movies. I need a film with substance. But even a mediocre sad movie can get me depressed.
- During a high school musical I was the (ehem) star of, I missed an entire scene because I was too busy backstage 'foolin' around with this really cute girl. Someone else on stage narrated my part third person as to cover for me. There were only two people who really knew what happened... until now
I guess I have to tag 3 people myself huh?
well I will update this blog after I have made my choice.

- Work: I need to leave the place I work at very soon. The company is fine, but the people I work with blow hard. I seriously can't stand it any more. I need a new job.
- Home: Computer virus', spwares, trojans, dailers, etc... are horrible. People who design these things are a waste of intelligence.
- Physical: My throat is sore
- Mental: Pokemon Leaf Green, Emerald, Red, Blue, and Pearl are comming along great! today I wore my Team Rocket Grunt costume.
- Yard: Shoveling this much snow is ludacris, When will Colorado see foliage again?
- Future: When will I get a pug?

lobster, life, Seagull, nature
BETHLEHEM, N.H. - Monstro the 15-pound lobster didn't wind up on the menu.
The giant lobster caught 100 miles off the Massachusetts coast spent last month in the lobster tank at Angelica's Restaurant in Bethlehem. He recently was returned to the water, just off the southern tip of West Island, five miles from New Bedford, Mass.
Fred Cunha, the restaurant owner, bought the 37-inch Monstro with his 15-inch-long claws from a New Bedford fishing boat in mid-October. Cunha estimates Monstro is 50 years old.
Fifteen-pound lobsters are rare anywhere, but especially in the North Country.
Half the customers who weighed in on the subject wanted to eat Monstro; the other half felt sorry for him.
After persistent lobbying from diners and his 7-year-old daughter Angelica, Cunha decided to raffle off Monstro, with the winner deciding whether to send him to the ocean or the cooking pot.
So Monstro lounged in the restaurant's tank with Mr. Crabby, Angelica's pet 2-pound lobster, feasting on minced crab and scallops. Cunha sold chances at $1 apiece until he reached Monstro's retail price of $150.
"She was really worried," Cunha said of his daughter. "She really wanted him to go free."
Last Friday, Angelica drew the winning ticket. The winner, Claire Lupton of Whitefield, doesn't eat lobster. She said a lobster that big and that old shouldn't end up on a dinner plate.
The Monstro raffle was so successful that Cunha extended it to another lobster, a 9-pounder who'd joined Monstro in the tank a couple of weeks ago. That lobster was set free, too.
