Laughing Gull

Doesn't look like he's laughing

Parakeets

While I was having dinner in Largo, a flock of these loud, bright green birds showed up outside. They luckily stayed around long enough that I was able to finish eating and grab a couple shots before it started raining. I think there were about 20 individuals in the flock, but it could have been more. This is the first time I've seen parakeets in Florida.

Now on a completely different note, my Cape Canaveral pictures are finally online. And I should also have Kennedy Space Center photos up by next Friday too.

Taking a Snooze

The sanderling was just waking up after a short break from foraging on the beach. I originally thought it was a semipalmated sandpiper, but when it stood next to a ruddy turnstone I realized it was too big.

Except for birds, there are literally no size references on the beach! Which made most walks a lot longer than I thought they would be :faint:

Gulf Coast Royal Terns

A small selection from August 14th. I also have a few from other days, but I'm reserving those for the winter when I'll have a shortage of new pictures.

Headed South

Just a really quick note that I'll be off in Florida for a bit. In three hours from now I'll be boarding my flight to Tampa. I'm going to be avoiding the computer, so don't expect to hear from me again until after the 25th.

So, see ya! :D
