I'm lazy when it comes to blogging and sharing pictures so I'm only sharing a few of my recent trip. You'll see in my
Photo section that I have uploaded some pics of my short but fun trip to Chicago and the 2009 Chicago Blackhawks Convention. My first picture is of Cloud Gate which is an exhibit at Millennium Park located in the heart of downtown Chicago. I think it's a must see if you are visiting the city for the first time. Since this trip was mainly centered on going to the convention I didn't see a lot of the city's great landmarks. I think my husband and I may go back later this summer and take the South Shore electric train into the city. Here's a link to
Cloud Gate and you can see the other exhibits at Millennium Park.
Here are a couple of pictures of some past Blackhawk players that I got to meet during the convention. The older gentleman is Bobby Hull. He's been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and the Blackhawks have retired his number 9. Bobby is a great guy to be in an autograph line for. He loves to talk to everyone and is really nice. He personally signed a hat to me and my husband which will be enshrined in some fashion at my house. lol

The next picture is of Tony Amonte. Tony played for the Hawks back in the 90s and was a captain of the team for a short period of time. Tony was known for his scoring ability, he's the last Blackhawk player to score 40 goals, and for his long hair. I think Tony still has great locks and could lace up the skates and play. I got Tony to sign a game program for me that dated back to the 98-99 season. The dude that was escorting Tony around that day was pretty impressed that I had something from back then. I told him I had to dig it out of my attic which I don't think Tony was happy hearing about that part.
Last but not least, is a view from my hotel room at the convention. The nice people at the Chicago Hilton upgraded my room to a Junior Suite for free. The suite was sweet and had a great view of Buckingham Fountain. Another must see when going to Chicago.
