I can't get my Mother (in her late 80's) to even think about going near a computer...

"The keys are too small..."

"It's hard to read the screen..."

"I don't need a computer...I have a telephone!"

The excuses she provides are endless!

I couldn't even talk her into a WebTV system!!!!

I have an email from my grandmother, just before she died. She was 79, and had got into the Web to chat to her daughter (my aunt), and I was copying her with an email newsletter that amounted to a blog (except it was the olden days, so it wasn't called that) I kept as I travelled.

But my other grandmother (who is more than 90) won't go near the things. My Mum, on the other hand, works in a similar area to me, and was the person that got me into computing, the Web, accessibility, and a whole stack of technology stuff.

I love to hear of older people keeping up with modern things. To my mind, it means that they are still fully active in the mental sense and capable of enjoying a very full life............Navorser
