Is ENDURANCE really a VIRTUE.

One of my friends always say that is crazy to be humble in all things, & endurance in the face of 'hardship' is the absence of a very thoughtful action. But after reading what another friend posted to me,i began to debunk his ideas hence the story below: A young man of my age & qualifications had serious difficulties passing the tides of life & injustice inherent thereto. Severally he thought of taking his own life & end the misery. But one day, he travelled home & told his dad about the challangings & his worrisome. The dad led him to the kitchen in a quite response & put three different pots of water on the gas & turned it on. At the same boilling degree, he put an egg in one, carrot in the other & coffee in the last one and cover them, still, without uttering a word to the son. After 30 minutes he brought them down & placed the items in different plates & cup. He allowed another 10 minutes before he cleared his throat & asked the son to fill them.On inspection, the son told him that the carrot is so soft; the coffee so tick in black & bitter, while the egg is strong too. 'Now, listen', the Dad said. These 3 items have been subjected to the same treatment & here is their reactions: 'Remember the carrot was strong & after the heat of fire it became soft & the egg was fragile but strong after the heat. Coffee before the heat was brown & now deep in bitter & tick in black'. 'life' he said, 'is like the items & challenges are the boiling water, what you came out with after the test is your true SELF' he asked the son to choose from the items the one that will best symbolises him & the son chose the egg! 'Go & endure my son', he left the kitchen. ENDURANCE is it truely a VIRTUE or WEAKNESS. What can you choose from the items too?
