.Mac Vs The World

So .Mac goes down and brings out the worst in people. It really shows how fickle people can be. One user has written “it may finally be time to switch away from Mac after 20 years”
How much of an over reaction is this? I mean the users probably had 20 years of comfort from using a Mac and suddenly he has an issue and they want to forget about it?
Ok yeah they might be a business user but still, up until now they’ve probably been more productive from using a Mac and its key features, many of which gear towards companies; features that NO pc can match straight out of the box without paying for expensive software suits. I hope they switch and suffer for it just for being so ridicules.

Girl.

I kinda feel I’m punching above my weight at the moment, still really enjoying spending time with her, its fantastic. I guess that’s all that matters.

this could be the second to last.

yeah, it could be the second to last gig i play with my current band. theres just so much negativity about i don;t think i can bare it any longer. don;t get me wrong, i love the music to bits and the people but i think our ambitions, interests and hearts lay in different places.
maybe i just feel a bit “meh” again or maybe its just to much this time, maybe i don’t feel i can say my piece anymore.

on books, on music

, , , ...

“how boring they were to read, but how you loved them anyway”
This is the first quote nick makes in the Polysyllabic Spree, closely followed “anyone who hasn’t felt like this isn’t owning up”
Brilliant; Books can seem like a chore, an annoying piece of house work which has to be finished before you feel comfortable. I think the worst thing is to start a book, I mean that’s it for say 300 pages, your trapped. I have to finish books and this is probably why I take so long choosing the next one I read.
The Polysyllabic Spree is one of my favourite books Nick has written. I love his honest writing and it’s pleasing to know that there is a writer out there that is just like one of us.

Music: Right now I’m listening to “broken family band”, “wolf parade” and Jeniferever. The first are two of the bands I’m getting through which Ry left with me. Ry moved to Leeds around two years ago and my lust for music left with him. He was always a source of great music and now my lust is I’m absorbing all I can. I think like me Ry has gone for sincerity; I say this because there isn’t a huge amount of tough music in his collection. I love tough music I’m in a screamo band but my main concern is how fake much of the tough music is. Right now I need some tough music to listen to and there are a few records I’m off to purchase a.s.a.p. I don’t want inane screaming, I want gut wrenching singing.

Ham on rye

, ,

i can't sleep so i finished reading "ham on rye" by charles Bukowski. some briliant stuff in there and its been a while since i enjoyed a book as much as i did this one. i always like to find litle quotes to use haha.

one thing i hate about finishing books is the situation it leaves you in. what do yiou read next? this is a issue which has made me late fr work on a number of occasions as i take far too long to dcided what to read. sometimes i take a few days off reading just to think it over.

i've been reading a hell of a lot recently and i think i;m finally getting to the stage where i have more books that i have read than what i haven;t read. this means i need to buy more books. recommendations are always welcomed.

i think i might read nick hornby's "the polysyllabic spree" as its basically a book about one mans struggle to read all the books hes bought and the books hes been meaning to read

Are you ready for the Nottingham?

,

so me and the Boys Team from Nottingham/Sheffield went to party in Ipswich. A common theme is occurring around the country; people don’t know how to party like us. Seriously were ever we go its dead until we arrive, give us an hour and suddenly everybody is loving it. Saturday night in Ipswich ended with a room full of people singing songs about how fun the “boys from the north” were. I think they were sad to see us go.
