Chrispynutt's Opera Hideout

You ain't heard me right ;)

Back from Crewe

, , , , ,

I am back from lovely Crewe and Haslington. It is a nice part of the world, but does remind me of how heavily populated England is. Sensibly most buildings utilise a nice red brick, that glows in sunlight and warms in the rain. I wish that Fife Council had learned this fact before slapping up so much grey all over the place.

Joanne and ChrisG are a great couple and it is was an absolute pleasure to stay with them.

I went by train, well with Crewe's history a trainride is in order. Virgin do run some nice trains, but unfortunatly some very drunk and loud Scots made most of the journey down a grind. They weren't angry, but there were bottles smashed. I swear if this country could learn to have consderation like it has drinking we would be the envy of the world.

It was a fun packed weekend, had a couple of jars, went bowling and saw Wall-e. Wall-e is a must see, I would say it is the best proper science fiction that I have seen for all ages. Proper Science Fiction (as apposed to pulp, soap or FX Sci-Fi) ask serious questions, whether they be the nature of being, where we are headed or just hold up a mirror to the the current affairs. Wall-e handles all this in an entertaing and heart pulling way. Bowling was cool, won one and lost one. Was great to meet more of Chris's family, like Tom who is a good chap and was des on two occasions!

I saw some nice trainers in J&S Accessories (Motorcycles), they were Alpinestars Matrix. I thought getting them online would be easy, they seem to be discontinued so if anyone knows of a store with a good stock of AS trainers let me know.

Light on Dark or Dark on LightThere's a ghost in me that wants to say sorry...
