Portable e-book vs. Printed books

My husband suggested that I should sell or donate some of my books like novels, which is only worth reading once, just so to clear up some space on the shelves. I thought it's a good idea and then I start doing the 'selecting' process. After a few hours of doing so, I can only pick out two of them. I'm not sure it's just me or it's a natural instinct that once you've own sth, you just want to keep them forever. Since I'm very much a book lover, it's even harder for me to throw away me books!
So I’m looking for a solution for my ‘book problem’. Awhile ago I’ve heard of a computer device called the e-book (i.e. electronic book). It is a digital media equivalent of a conventional printed book. This means that you can load books onto a small digital/computer device like a PDA to read on the screen instead of on paper.
This is a relatively new market and has a lot of potential. Therefore, big electronic companies such as Sony, HP, Fujitsu, LG and so on have since started competing against each other in order to make the ‘best’ module for e-book. I have done a quick search on the internet to see how their e-books line up against each other:
The Sony reader e-book:
The HP ebook prototype
Fujitsu colour e-book
LG e-book laptop
I’ve listed only a few names but there are of course many other different brands of e-book you can find. The main thing I want to find out is that what are the advantages of e-book when comparing it to the traditional books in paper print? I’ll update this info tomorrow. But for now, it’s time for me to have a nice cup of tea and enjoy my newly bought hard-back book: Jane Eyre.
